I’m so excited to finally share this Balboa Park bridal session with Jazzmyne and Austin! I’m actually photographing their wedding in Texas later this month, but since they live in San Diego, we decided to do a bridal session together ahead of the wedding day. And honestly, I could not think of a better place for it than Balboa Park.
Balboa Park is one of those locations that makes a photoshoot feel instantly elevated. Between the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, gardens, arches, tilework, and all of the beautiful little details throughout the park, there is so much to work with.

I absolutely loved the elegant, editorial feel of this Balboa Park photography session. The architecture gave us a completely different look from the natural landscapes I photograph so often, and I loved getting to lean into something a little more fashion-forward and timeless.
If you’re looking for a Balboa Park wedding photographer, engagement photographer, or a location for a couples photoshoot, this is definitely a spot I would recommend considering. Balboa Park is also an established wedding and event location with a variety of gardens, courtyards, and venues throughout the park.
I’m a traveling wedding photographer, so getting to photograph in new places is one of my favorite parts of what I do. I’ve photographed weddings everywhere from Washington and the PNW to New York, Texas, Wisconsin, Idaho, and more, and I would absolutely love an excuse to come back to San Diego for another Balboa Park wedding or photoshoot.
San Diego is only a short drive from where I live in Arizona, so I actually make the trip to photograph couples there almost every month, because (just between you and me) it’s a much prettier place to take photos.
